I’m being forced to “deal” with my daughter’s autism again. It’s a long story and it doesn’t mean that I’ve had my head burried in the sand about the subject, but that I”m in a position again that I am forced daily to deal with her behaviors and look for solutions or reasons.
This has lead me to get interactive in the autism and special needs community again. It means I’m paying attention to the headlines. That means I’m drained, and tired of hearing about it, which is why I quit paying attention to it all before.
But, regardless, here I am.
Well, no shit! Every mother of a child on the spectrum could have told them this, but I suppose it’s great to have some actual scientific proof that brains on autism are actually performing differently.
Now, wether or not you agree with her politics and policy, she’s someone to thank and admire or admonish (depending on your stance) for getting some help for those of who need medical support for autism issues.
Life hurts lately and I’m glad to see someone else is out there fighting on my behalf.
